Christmas news and photography ideas to fill your festive stockings from Siobhan Doran Photography

Festive Greetings

Firstly, I would like to thank all my clients and customers for your support throughout 2013. It has been a great year for me and my practice has gone from strength to strength.
Just sharing some suggestions for Christmas presents or stocking fillers in this blog; all of which I am involved in (or indeed a new year treat as some items are on a longer lead-time).
They include my limited edition 'Marilyn' light box inspired by my projection which was exhibited in Bologna, The Charles Dickens Museum catalogue, F\1 Publication that was produced for Foto Industria Bologna, Limited edition Savoy Book which includes a print and a signed and numbered book (limited number left) and a selection of my Ashridge prints.

  Marilyn Lightbox

This lightbox is 425 x 450mm in dimension and the photograph was taken during the Savoy Restoration. The lightbox is constructed by John Jones www.johnjones.co.uk and is of the highest standard including a warm and cool white light option and dimming capabilities – I see this piece as a sculpture as it can be appreciated both as a piece of art and/or double up as a lamp and can be wall hung or freestanding as seen here. View at Battersea Power Station

Architectural photo library VIEW are putting on a one-off exhibition at Battersea Power Station during London Open House, 21 and 22 Sept. This is the first time the looming south London monument site has been opened to the public for Open House — and the last for some years, since building work has already started on the flats that they are fitting into the site.

Individual images from 28 photographers ( I am one of the 28) will be shown outdoors on the timber storage structures that sit in the new park that has been created on the riverside in front of the power station. The public will be queueing along the hoarding to get into the building, but the VIEW show can be seen by anyone without joining the queue: just go to the southern end of Chelsea Bridge to access the site.
